I agree with you. It may be funny to some but not others. I personally am also opposed to that idea. Crashing peoples votes is like saying your better than them and they should have no right to vote. (Although, I do agree that Aya should not get an award again.) I am overseas. She isn't that big here anymore so that should not be an issue.

I know from experience that some Japanese otaku think Aya is especially popular overseas. I really don't know, myself. My blog posts on her don't get that many comments. I'd certainly be one "hard-core" overseas seiyuu fan who would probably have voted for her last year. But not this year. She was good in Nijuumensou, but not good enough to beat out Koshimizu Ami (Horo), Paku Romi (Kuromitsu), or even Kugimiya Rie (Taiga) or Tomatsu Haruka (Nagi) this year.

I wouldn't vote for Tanaka Rie this year. Voting on the basis of past (or future) performance doesn't seem right, to me. She could have won in 2006 for Hataraki Man, and could be supporting actress of 2007 or 2008 for KimiKiss. But the poll is unclear as to what basis we should be voting on. The foreigners' vote is only one category, of "Overseas Fans Choice," in which we vote for who we think is the "most memorable voice actor."

I am completely opposed to j1m0ne's idea of a "random" choice. That's a supposed joke I myself don't find at all funny. And let's crash your blog, shall we? That's just as unfunny an idea as suggesting we might crash their vote.

Voting in both polls should be okay, as far as I can tell from the site, but they do filter for voting more than once in the Japanese poll, so they could filter if they wanted to.

> Everyone about Hirano Aya

Somehow I don't think Hirano Aya's overseas fans are actually hardcore enough in the general seiyuu circle to care or even know about such an event and thus probably won't cast any votes, but then I could be wrong....

I would think so. I doubt they will be doing any sort of IP-based filtering on the poll. I'm assuming they think that the language barrier itself is sufficient as a filter, so if you can read moonspeak I see no reason not to take advantage of the system and vote twice. :)

> dodgethis_sg

Good point, I guess we will have to see when the page comes up. But my bet is that it would be a more generalised one like "favourite seiyuu + role" sort of deal to begin with since the information so far is suggesting that it is only one award, rather than a whole category in itself.

> j1m0ne

That would be funny. :D I really wonder how crashable the poll is.

Oh no... more Hirano madness =_= She is really popular among overseas fans, especially the ones who don't know much about seiyuu. However, I think Tanaka Rie might have a pretty good shot at the overseas award too. At least of the older anime-lovers I know, they all remember the voice of Chi and Lacus Clyne.

We should run a massive spamming campaign to get someone completely random like say, Nichiko Meya, to win or something.

Maybe if they let Hirano win this one we can get some more deserving winners in the regular categories? One can only hope.

Will the foreign fans have categories similar to those the Japanese fans have or will there be only one single award for us to vote on?

PS. Do not mind the rest of those Singapore retards. They don't know how to appreciate good things when it's presented to them.

Yes, I also fear that this category will have Hirano as a winner (who is just an okay seiyuu). Oh well, I will vote anyway
