New Chihara Minori single in August
According to her latest blog post, Minorin will be releasing her second single of the year on August 6th. The title of the single is 雨上がりの花よ咲け (Ameagari no Hana yo Sake). The date suggests heavily to me that they are planning to get this out before Animelo for some promotional effects.
I wasn’t terribly impressed with Melty tale storage, and I’m starting to worry about Lantis’ spam tactics when it comes to their seiyuu and anime song releases - it seems they just don’t really know what to do with their seiyuu talents, they just know that they are popular and need to pump out CD after CD, but without actually finding the right direction for their artists to go along with.
Anyway, I’m still cautiously optimistic. So let’s see where this one will go.
PS. I’m now a member of Minorin’s official fanclub “Minori Smile Season (m.s.s)”, will be getting the fanclub goodies in a week’s time, woot!

but Lantis is just doing their job as a publisher x_x
tbh, i just hope Minorin doesn’t tire herself out, sometimes she work too hard and long hours imo.. that is why some of her blog post mentioned something about muscle and pain..
well good for you, u can read Japanese lol (can’t read anything, rely on the dictionary) >_<; im also a fan of hers, visit her blog everyday :P, and the only person to write in English lol…

You do have to pay - the sign up procedure on the fanclub page is only a preliminary step, after which they will send you an email for payment details. Only after you have paid the fee (5000yen paid via the Japan postal banking system) will they then send you a full confirmation email, along with a login and password to access the members’ only section, plus confirming your physical address for mailing the club goods to you.

It’s a bit scary that minorin’s coming out with singles with a gap of less than 6 month, but I do agree with you that we’ll see how this goes along.
As for the fan club, is there any hope we can direct our mailing addresses to you? XD

Nice! I can’t wait to hear this new single.
I do agree that it is a little early to release a new single, but from a marketing standpoint lantis can’t pass this opportunity. Animelo is a big event for her career.
To join mss, do you need to pay only 5000 at the start or 5000 every month?

To join mss, I think there’s a one-time fee and an annual fee. I’m quite broke at the moment, and I don’t even have a Japanese address, so I can’t join anytime soon…
Heh, I guess there are quite a few people here that read Minorin’s blog on a daily basis. I still look forward to her new single, though.

The time of releasing a new single is predictable
Lantis publishes a new one (including Contact) every 5 months
I think the new song title has implied something, huh?
Maybe the outcome of MTS (which is short for Melty tale storage) was not really satisfactory…
A number of fans think that the image of Minorin is strange.
somebody has done too much on it…Wouldn’t it be better if the reputation is more natural?
And the song style of her is also restricted…as some fans have pointed out
Though she has various performance on different Character Songs,
somebody do not accept them as major one, perhaps.
This time I really do not want 菊田大介 appear again!
And ASL2008 will probably decide her future…..
However, it must be very challenging for her (ha, the theme of ASL is…)

It’s 5000yen for a year’s worth of membership, there’s no joining fee.

As for the whole Animelo thing, I’m pretty certain that Lantis just wants her to be able to sing one of her new songs on stage and plug it during the concert as pure strategic campaigning. Minorin’s already made her first official solo appearance last year (2007) so this year’s is not nearly as important. Besides as a solo artist, she’s already doing better than Hirano Aya sales wise (you would think otherwise with all the internet buzz) and is Lantis’ current top selling seiyuu artist, she’s not really in need of the Animelo effect anymore - in fact it’s probably safe to say that she’s got enough draw now to be considered a fairly decent attraction.
