Thousands of otaku cries out together in pain - Chiba Saeko announces marriage
Chiba Saeko annouced on her blog today, which also happens to be her 30th birthday, that she is now married.
Speculations had been floating around ever since the ending of her fanclub last year that something major was happening to Chiba Saeko’s career - including change of management house - though this squarely puts an end to all the speculations as her moving away from the idol/singing side and focusing purely on voice acting would be a very normal change due to planning for marriage. A bit of a shame as I still loved her work with Kajiura Yuki as well as her unit Tiaraway with Nanri Yuka but it looks like the dream of seeing them making a come back is now almost non-existant.
Still, congratulations to Chiba Saeko!

Definitely congrats to her. I’ve actually been listening to more Tiaraway and her album Everything recently, and was wishing there was more of that.

A terrific seiyuu and seemingly a good person. She deserves the nicest life possible. Congratulations to her!

Whoa. News to me. Sad to hear the availability of one of my fav seiyuus be scratched out due to marry, but congrats to her nonetheless! As long as she’ll keep active in her seiyuu career, all is good (most so if she does more deep-voiced characters like Natsuki from Mai-HiME. Much love on non-high pitched chars she voices!)
What I find really odd is the sudden random string of weddings/marriages I’ve been hearing about. Just this weekend alone, one of my friends and coworker each had to attend a wedding. Strange stuff.

@moy: I agree about the deeper sounding voice, though her higher pitched characters (akin to Dokuro-chan) are pretty entertaining. In terms of the weddings, I’ve been noticing a lot more weddings around me as well. Though it most likely has to do with age (me being 26). More of the people I am around are either married already or have been planning to get married for awhile. There are times when I think I’m the only single one. :D

The realization that Chiba Saeko is 30 is actually more shocking to me than her getting married.

I have yet to truly appreciate her work, as I’ve only seen a few of her works (IchiMashi, Kare Kano) but she truly has done a lot. I wish her the best of everything and happiness to her new marriage with her lucky husband. (30 is usually the place mark to get married, anyhow)
