“Justice to Believe/アオイイロ” ranks 4th on Oricon, get a second go at “Hey! Hey! Hey!”

So the official count is out - Nana-chan’s latest single “Justice to Believe/アオイイロ” ranks 4th on the weekly singles chart. No bad. Thus also making this her second time in ranking in the top 5 of the weekly chart. Probably thanks to this, it’s annouced on the official page that Nana-chan will be appearing, for the second time, on prime-time music program “Hey! Hey! Hey!” next Monday, with the actual recording session taking place Thursday this week. A lottery was setup to let a few lucky fans to get into the recording session (I’ve put in mine). I hope that Nana-chan’s management have learnt from their previous mistake and take a page from Hirano Aya’s appearance on the same program to make this second appearance a better one. I mean at the very least they should let Nana-chan do a live, because Nana-chan is still at her best when singing, and I’m fairly certain she would impress the two hosts with that.

From my understanding of the program, it’s not the management’s decision that Nana-chan didn’t sing. Guests of that Rank-in corner don’t usually have live performances. Hirano Aya got a chance to sing just because her song didn’t have a PV.
Afterall HEY3 is a program that emphasizes talk shows more than live =.=

Anyway, I think the second appearance, though shorter, is much better than the first one overall.

…and I thought the second one was only better because it was so much safer, on the whole. The banter was nice but arranged and predictable.

Nice combination of the goth+schoolgirl attire?

It’s all up to negotiation and how much they want to push the artist. It’s pretty clear that Aya’s management is pushing her very very hard with every opportunity they get (so much so that she collapsed, literally) and that they managed to get a sweet deal out of it last time as it clearly takes more effort on Hey!^3 part to have to organise a life stage for Aya (as far as I know, the rank-in section recording usually takes place on the weekday such as for Nana’s case, whereas Aya’s took place on a weekend!) thus I simply don’t see how mainstream media would go to that sort of trouble of promoting a seiyuu if the management of said seiyuu didn’t go begging the station for hosting such a section, as they could easily substitute the PV section with clips from the Haruhi performance, or you know, simply not have Aya as a guest.

Agreed, the hosts are clearly more refrained from their comments. They’re almost apologetic in their approach.
Nana’s atire for the night is pretty standard Japanese cute girls’ type of fashion, it’s also a “safe” choice in her part compared to the frilly dress she wore last time.
