Yurikamome Line installs special “Comiket” version of Seiyuu guide
In lead up to arguably the largest anime/comic event of the year 「Comic Market 70」, the ゆりかもめ Yurikamome Line has installed special 「Comiket 70」 versions of their Seiyuu Guide system for the duration of the 3-day event beginning on August 11. As some of you may recall, the Yurikamome Line recently completed the installation of their Seiyuu guide earlier this year. Tying-in with Comiket almost seems a natural corollary.
The concept of having well known anime seiyuu provide voice work for the station guides is a very intriguing strategy to draw commuters to the more touristy operation servicing the Odaiba area. And it may well work. Having missed my opportunity earlier this year to try out the voice guides, I find this to be an appropriate junction to kill two birds with one stone will be taking the Yurikamome Line to Comiket this weekend. I predict that there may actually be quite a crowd wanting to ride the Yurikamome in the coming days. The local consumer has a proven penchant for the “limited edition” and come Saturday there might be more than a little pushing and shoving going on.
