Mizuki Nana’s new song “Zankou no Gaia” used as TV show ending theme song
From the official site:
「残光のガイア」TV朝日「セレクションX」EDテーマに決定
4/3(月)よりON-AIRスタート!
This is the second time that a Nana-chan song is used as a TV show ending theme song. (First being “Super Generation” for a late night variety talk show やぐちひとり)
So what exactly is this 「セレクションX」(Selection X)?
Well it’s actually a TV shopping show….. Shocked? Surprised? You’re not the only one. I guess these kinds of exposure can’t be all that bad. Afterall, one has to work their way up.
Either way, it’s only natural as a Nana-chan fan that I recorded the show just to check out the song. In a surprising turn of direction of music style, “Zankou no Gaia” turns out to be an interesting mix of Jpop with Arabic Scottish-highlander style tunes. From the short clip of the song it’s not possible to form a definite conclusion, and after several repeats of it my current thoughts of it so far still hasn’t gone beyond the initial impact/shock of the direction this song has taken. Nevertheless, I’m happy that Nana-chan is willing to try out something completely new. I have high hopes for this song and the others on her new album “Hybrid Universe” and definitely looking forward to listening to the complete song.
EDIT: Ok the more I repeat the song the more I’ve grown to like it and I think this song has lots of potential. The CD can’t come soon enough…..
