Yurikamome Line Complete! with Seiyuu
Since 2005 the stations along the Yurikamome Line have been slowly “upgraded” to include voice work from various seiyuu. Now it seems that the upgrades are finally complete. All 16 stations have a particular seiyuu providing voice work for guide maps, fare adjustment and even toilet guides. There’s good representation from both male and female seiyuu with some notable ones including Nakahara Mai, Yamamoto Maria, Hoshi Souichiro, Suzumura Kenichi, Kuwatani Natsuko, Suzuki Tatsuhisa, Takahashi Mikako and Mizuhashi Kaori.
The Yurikamome Line connects Shimbashi to the Odaiba area and notably terminates at Ariake near the Tokyo Big Sight where Comiket is held every 6 months. However the Yurikamome line is slower and and has significantly less capacity than other methods of access such as the Rinkai Line. Perhaps the use of seiyuu voice work, while rather fitting, is an effort to draw more usage away from the other accesses. It’s certainly piqued my interest and I wouldn’t mind taking a ride to Ariake this Sunday for the TAF.
